Project ‘WORLD X SHIBUYA’ starting from Santa Monica, CA and Second Life.

Project ‘WORLD X SHIBUYA’ has announced its first venue of the world exhibition would be Santa Monica, California and Second Life. Titled 'WORLD X SHIBUYA presenting chaotic local culture of SHIBUYA, TOKYO around the world!', it will present the vibrant art scene of trendy city, SHIBUYA, Tokyo.

Exhibition will be held at James Gray Gallery at Bergamot Station at Santa Monica, California starting on June 26 through July 29, 2007. Fourteen featured local artists will reproduce the chaotic local culture scene with their panting, illustration, ceramic, jewelry, blueprint, photography, designed hat, dance performance. Shinoi Osuka, an American side producer, says ‘Culturaly fat city like SHIBUYA and LA contains everything in it. They are all in the mushroom soup or soup of the universe resulting in superb birth of new movements.’
Also this Exhibition will be held at Second Life too.

The exhibition presents dance performance along with the art and fashon at the gallery to show stereoscopic visualization.

Project ‘WORLD X SHIBUYA’ is a project of XSHIBUYA, which is established by enegitic artists and enthusiastic producers. In order to make the worldwide communication of the artists and creators with face to face, it plans to hold exhibitions in Paris and London after the kick off at LA.

「WORLD X SHIBUYA」（ワールドクロスシブヤ）プロジェクト第１弾
米国ロスアンジェルスとセカンドライフで開催

「WORLD X SHIBUYA」プロジェクトは、トレンド先端都市である渋谷のカルチャーを世界に発信することと、世界のトレンド先端都市のカルチャーを渋谷に紹介することを目的として企画されました。このプロジェクトの企画したエキシビションの第１弾をカリフォルニアと、セカンドライフで開催いたします。

今回のエキシビションは、'WORLD X SHIBUYA presenting chaotic local culture of SHIBUYA,TOKYO around the world!'と題して、米国ロスアンジェルス近郊のサンタモニカにあるJames Gray Galleryで、2007年6月26日～2007年7月29日の約一ヶ月間、１４名の渋谷に関係するアーティストやクリエイターの作品を展示・販売します。
さらに話題のセカンドライフにおいても、現地ギャラリーと同じサイズの建物を作り展示を行っています。

渋谷をはじめとする幾つかのトレンド先端都市は、音楽や演劇やダンスや絵画やジュエリーや食やファッションやインターネットの技術やビジネスなど、あらゆるものが混沌として存在し、それらを整理することすら不可能なカオス状態です。私たち「WORLD X SHIBUYA」プロジェクトでは、むしろ混沌なままにその発信者同士が化学反応を起こすことが、新たなムーブメントを引き出すのではないかと考えています。

今回はその立体的なカルチャーシーンをお見せするため、ギャラリーにてダンスパフォーマンスを入場無料で行います。ギャラリーの営業時間外ですのでご注意ください。

＜解説＞
「WORLD X SHIBUYA」プロジェクトとは：
トレンド先端都市のアーティストやクリエイターが相互に交流することを目指し、クリエイターのコミュニティであるXSHIBUYA（クロスシブヤ）に参加するアーティストを中心に設立されたプロジェクトです。今回のLAでの展示を皮切りに、今後はパリやロンドンでの展示も計画しています。さらに各都市での交流をベースに渋谷で同様の展示会をする計画もしています。
